V8 Dizzy - 2-pin vs 3-pin
Hi all,
I've got an early '94 D1 V8 with 3-pin dizzy (ie ign module on dizzy) and recently bought a good used unit off a trusted source on eBay as my vac adv had carked it and it's dear as poison as a spare part. Unfortunately the dizzy arrived and it was in excellent condition, but the later 2-pin type (ie remote ign module). I swapped the vac adv cartridges last night... and in doing so found that my mech adv mechanism had seized. No wonder it's such a guzzling slug. Aaarrgh!
I'm not in a position to have the car off the road for any time at the moment so am trying to avoid having to strip and rebuild to make one good unit (I assume the innards are interchangeable). I just don't have the time at the moment.
Questions:-
1. Does anyone have a fully-functioning 3-pin dizzy they'd like to swap for a 2-pin type in same (good) condition? Or willing to sell outright for a reasonable fee?
2. Does anyone know if I can get the link cable/adaptor locally to fit the 2-pin type dizzy in place of the 3-pin? What does it comprise of and where does the ign module go?
Any help appreciated, as always
