    93 Disco

    Hey guys on the back of the front diff there is a round object that is bolted near where the steering dampner is bolted and it has a wire running from one nut to the other (sorry no pic)

    Question is A what does it do and B can I take it off

    I have posted this in the tech section also

    Its a balancer of some kind, usually they fall off then are just left off so shouldnt be a problem without it.

    its a vibration damper, Id keep it on for the simple reason that its held on with a transmission mount which coincidently can be used for any of the engine/gearbox mounts in a pinch if you need to.
