Hey All,
I am new to the disco scene and my early impressions have been good. However I have one concern regard the the temp gauge???
My needle sit at about half and maybe a little less but when on the freeway it is always on a little over half. Once we are back to 60 and 80 zones it backs off to half.
Is this considered normal ?

Yeah,
this is what I thought but another guy on another forum said that it should not move passed half way at all ???
Mine used to do the same thing ever since I brought it. I did about 60k kms with it like that and then finaly my head gasket blew.
Since repairing them it now sits just below 1/4 or just above if its working.
I knew my head gasket was on the way out though as it was using water.
I would either get it looked at or do a few things yourself.
Start with a reverse flush on the cooling system, replace the radiator cap and thermostat. Also change the radiator hoses.
After that if still the same you may need to get the rad rodded or look at a new water pump.
Make sure if you flush the radiator that you refill it with coolant and bleed it properly.
If you are almost having problems now I would definately do something before summer.
After all that though I am not sure just how accurate the temp gauge is. I had mine overhet on me without the gauge moving. I now have an aftermarket temp gauge which seems to fluctuate a lot more that the (still connected) original.

The pre update gauges seems to do this. I changed the sender, hoses, thermostat and had the radiator rebuilt in my 93 and the gauge still did exactly that.
Mine sites at almost half way but go's no further then that on the highway it drop's only a little.
Get your radiator rodded. A 93 model radiator must have some gunk in there.
My 95 3.9 started by smelling a bit warm, then getting hot occasionaly then getting hot more often. Had the system flushed, changed the head gaskets, relaced water pump and replaced thermostat. Getting the rad rodded solved it in the end. pull the rad yourself, cost you maybe $100, cheap and easy.
That would be my first test.

Edit: Specialist put a machine on the epansion tank which screamed(!!!) ths meant there was aparantly a lot of exhausted gasses in the system, hence me changing the head gaskates. I don't know if this was accurate, I'd be willing to bet I didn't need to do ,my heads.
