    Question Losing Coolant

Hi all , new to the forum and to discos.

We just bought our first disco a 98 D1 V8 auto LS, and i am loosing coolant .I can hear the screw on Rad cap leaking a tiny bit , but i think there is a small leak somewhere behind the motor, between it and the firewall.......any idea on what would be leaking back there coz i cant see any hoses heading that way??

And when we go through soft sand she heats up quite quick , some advice would be great ..

    Thanks Adam

Could actually be leaking at the front of the valley cover,( heater hose etc), and can run down under the manifold to the rear of the engine, looking like a leak at the rear.

Get a pressure test done, it will be obvious to see it.

Could also be a breach in your head gasket/s. Try some Chem Seal or similar
    Hope this helps
