Does or has anyone run 245/75/16's on their D1 Tdi

    Hi everyone,

Has anyone had success running 245/75/16's on their D1 Tdi. I have been offered some, they are in excallent condition. I am not sure if they are too big. I do a lot of highway miles and starting to get off road more and more.

    Whatchareckon.....?

    Thanks

I ran this size Cooper STT's on my 97 Disco. You'll need a 2" suspension lift and also will have to trim the rear guards (camel cut) to make them clear the body.

I have run that size MTR on my 97 Disco since 01, started them on standard suspension and did a 4 day tour of the Vic high country like this (staircase included)

I am not sure what a camel cut is however the only mod I have had to do is bend a 45deg bend in the lower trailing corner of the rear guard and pull the lower edge out slightly.

I have had them fitted on both the alloy and steel factory rims and have had no part of the side wall come in contact with the body work.

The front tyres will rub at full lock unless you wind out the steering bump stops, however I have mine set for the smaller tyres and when running the 245/75/16 I will just back off the steering to stop the rubbing.

The other thing they did for me was correct the speedo, so with them on the speedo is correct however the odo reads a little slow Approx 1km per 100km.

You should find someone with that size to try them out
