From what I have heard & seen from some pics of these they can be a real problem, so I tracked down the Model code & found my 95 disco was not the upgraded version. Being easy to get out I had a look see to find the splines were oily & showing no signs of wear. Chuffed about that as I was expecting to see wear etc. Put it back together for now, I understand there is a oil plate thingy you can get, but I figure I can make somthing up myself to direct a bit more oil into the spline. Do that another day
