hi all, i have a aftermarket fuel tank installed in my disco, but one problem is the fuel guage doesnt work with it? how can i get it to work properly with the tank? can i get an after market guage and sender? or can any good mechanic/autoelec be able to sort it out?

Worst case, VDO have a universal fit sender in the correct OHM's range for just over $100.

Does it work at all or just not accurately?
If it is the second, then the best you can do is adjust (bend) the arm on the float so it reads the last 2/3 of the tank.
On my aftermarket tank it never reads full and doesn't move for about 160-200 Km but gives me a reasonable estimation of the last 1/2 tank.
Even as it goes to empty and the warning lamp illuminates steady I still have about 30Km plus before I run out (which I have never managed to do yet, in over 12 years of having the tank.). Have come pretty close a couple of times, usually in the wee hours of the morning on long trips and no fuel stations open.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
