    Auto slector light not working?

    Hi Guy's,

I have just got a 1999 300 Tdi Auto Disco for my wife to use, we got it today.

Jumped in to go and fill up with diesel so that she didn't have to worry about it as she hasn't driven a diesel before and noticed the selector light on the Auto shifter not working.

Any ideas on how to fix it or what the prob could be!!!

    Cheers
    Brett

    Brett,

Just prise up the surround of the shifter housing(Starting from the front leading edge), under it you will see 2 globe holders, one each side. Just pull them straight out, they don't have to twist, and you will need 2 wedge type 5watt globes. This is a common replacement item.
Congrats on purchasing a good model of Tdi!

    No! No! No!

Use 3 watt globes. The 5 watt ones get too hot and melt the plastic of the display unit.
