Thumbs up LPG fitted to '96 V8i

Last week I finally had my LPG fitted to my V8i Disco.
I opted for the 'SCUBA' tank (x3 bottles) in the rear cargo area and non injection.
Over the weekend I fabricated a false floor, it all looks pretty shmick now.
So far it all seems to work just fine, gotta take it back after 2000KM for a service and check.
Nice to be able to fill up for under $40!!!!!

yeah....be interesting to see what I'll actually get...I'll run it 'dry' and see what I get, so far I've done suburban 140km and its 'hovering' bewteen 1/2 and 2/3, so I reckon be between 250-300KM, be interesting what I'll get on a country run, heading up to the Goulburn near Alexandra for fly fishing weekend after next.

installer reckons 65L usable, at this rate I should see at least 250KM if not a tad more

    Hmm
65 usable. Bit unusual. I have same setup and can just squeeze in 60 if at total level ground.
    Best of luck though.
The gauges are a bit tricky and you may find the last bit drops suddenly.

Still, you now have a good range at least with petrol as well.
Good choice. Make sure timing is set at 10degree btdc. Special gas leads and bosch plugs to stop miss fire etc.

and being a lot cheaper to fill it gets driven with much less regard to economy i get about 100 to 110 out of the first half of a tank then about 70 to 80 from the rest and i drive it till its dry every time then go to petrol

the usable capacity was quoted by the installer....I'll do some calculations over the next few 'fill ups' and work out what I can use out of a full tank

I am running low resistance high performance custom made leads from Performance Ignition Services in Blackburn, NGK plugs, cannot remember the model right now, high performance 'sports' coil, new dizzy cap and rotor.
Made a huge diff on petrol and is working well with LPG, I have not had the engine idle as smooth as it currently does on gas!
