To Sell or sell the parts?

I have had my Disco on the market for a couple of months and have had two people pull out of the deal. They had not seen the vehicle when they pulled out and one even left a large deposit although I asked them to see the vehicle first.

So.... All this considered I am a bit over dealing with people to sell the D1 and am wondering if I should just take it to pieces and ebay them or chuck them on the forum here first.

I have a bullbar which is only a few months old, recoed engine about 50,000 kms ago, 5,0000 kms on set of Mickey t's ATZ's ($350 each new), maxi drive in rear, 4.11's and all that sort of business.

So sell it as a whole or not?

I reckon I'd come out about the same financially so I'm not so much doing it to get more cash out of it but apart from that I thought it would give me some thing to pull apart I might be able to get rid of it quicker too!

Everything seems to be in good condition. The gearbox has a notch but that's the only thing that gives any grief what so ever and I *think* I know what it is.

Let me know your ideas anyway because I almost started the deed this afternoon.

    Thanks,
    Xavier.

As with Ho Hars, I'd be keen to know more, as I'm in the market for a good TDi. Feel free to PM me with some more details.

Sorry. not in Aulro markets. I had a few issues with it and it kept dissapearing. It's on drive.com, I think. I pulled the ad of carsales which cost me 50 bucks and then the person pulled out of the deal.... That made me cranky

Personally, I'd never sell a LR again. Amazing experience really, hundreds of tyre kickers, time wasters, an interesting unprovoked revelation about another Disco for sale that I'd considered, lies, deception, online espionage and people that simply know everything.

But to give you a relevant answer, I'd persevere. Took me ages to sell my 94 Disco. It sounds like its in too good condition to be wrecked, you'll eventually find the right buyer, that's the easy part - its getting the right money, which I found is in the realm of fantasy.

This sounds like a story that must be told.

I'm pleased to hear someone has had the same experience as me. The Defender was a far worse experience then this so far but I'm ready to chuck it in the back yard and let it stay there.

I will leave it a few weeks and if I get what I have so far I will pull it apart.

What would I get for the 300tdi engine if I sold that with the turbo?

The Markets section is working fine again, you must have posted your ad during some technical hiccups.
