I'd of thought dependant on any modifications your only really looking at 5k absolute maximum. Especially at the moment it is very hard to sell any vehicle let alone a V8. Does it have lpg?

I'm selling my tdi and tempted to go down the path of dismantling and selling seperately.

Four months ago there was no world financial crisis. And although the price of fuel has come down somewhat, nobody really believes it will stay there for very long, so in the used car trade, "V8" is a dirty word. Add to this the fact that car dealers are facing serious financial problems, and there are few dealers (if any) who want an older V8 - they are fightened they will get stuck with it.

It very much depends on the vehicle, but I would guess that you may get as much as $3000 in a private sale - but nobody really knows what any car is worth today, as it varies from day to day with economic news.

maybe some one on here is interested in taking off my hands as i would sooner see it go to some 1 who appreciates this kind of vehicle.......

Check ebay also. One went for 6 grand with auction over the weekend. it was a year or two newer but you might get lucky.

hey mate i feel your pain. i've just got my missus another car which has made her 1995 disco es 7 redundant.
as your obviously aware they aint worth a lot at the minute so i'm parting mine out.
if your not in a rush to get cash back for it then this is the way to go and you'd be amazed at how much it'll sell for in parts - i've done quite a few now.
if you'd rather recoup some cash straight away and in 1 lump sum then as long as it's in good nick you should get 4k privatley.
if you intend to break it and want any advice as to what you'll get for parts/ what to sell shoot me a pm and i'll try and help.

If you need a quick sale then wrecking it out isn't going to work for you. As said they are worth bugger all.
I think it would go reasonably quickly at $4-5k in Brisbane. They are advertised for more $ up here but what they sell for I don't know.

A dealer is never going to offer you anything reasonable for any vehicle. Especially if they think you are desperate. They are a business after all.

I was thinking about selling mine a few months back, but changed my mind. One thing that seemed to work for me though was to mention the fact that I'd swap it for a ute. Had 3 offers, a Hilux, AU ute and a Toyota Soarer

I'd buy it off you today and strip it myself if I had the space to do so. Either that or strip mine and keep yours
