Yeah you don't need to cut the guards at all, one big benefit of D2's over D1's. There are people on this forum who run 265/75/R16's with standard suspension, so you won't have any worries at all with 245/75/R16.

Question rear wheel carrier w/ 245/75/R16

I forgot to ask. I have a spare wheel carrier on the rear outside boot door - how do I tell it is standard landrover issue and will the tyre size fit onto the carrier with no problems (i.e not rub the door itself) if it's standard issue???

    thanks again...

Gday All, will the 245/75/16 put the speedo or gearing out.Looking for a replacement for the cooper S/T and these seem to be getting a good rap.
    Thanks and Cheers Ean

Are they classed as an A/T? and are they a LT construction?
Hi Grover, Have them on my 84 RRC and they are great. Impressed a few people with where I could go without lockers[eg: water and mud coming over the bonnett and not a hint of spinning wheels in the mud] IMHO you wont be sorry with them. A bit of tyre noise but thats why we have radios, isnt it, to turn them up a bit more.

Very good idea! keeps things clean when people do a search

    Any luck with prices?

Mine were $220 a tyre fitted alignment and balance plus a free rotation after 5000K

Mine were $250 each (245/75-16) at Bob Jane's yesterday. I couldn't get them any lower.
Another BJ store quoted me $330 each

great tyre, been using them for around 6 months, easily better value for money than the MTR which I changed from and I loved them too. Bighorns were $65 per tyre cheaper.
