Disco 1 cruise control adjustment
Hi all,
just wondering if the cruise control on my '96 Disco can be adjusted to be more 'agressive', with other words, I would like the throttle to come in faster and harder, at the moment there is too much lag when cruising up inclines/hills.
With aftermarket units this is usually adjustable either by a potentiometer or dip switch settings, depending on model.
Would appreciate any input, thanks people.

No way that I know of but if your cruise control pump is weak, then it will have the same symptoms you're experiencing.

If yours is the same as the '95 D1, yes there is. Of sorts.
Refer WM Cruise Control Page 4
To check: IGNITION OFF. Check clearance between inside edge of actuator link & recessed diameter of throttle lever.
Clearance should be 0.2 to 2.0mm
Maybe yours is a bigger gap, so it would not pull in as required, but later.
To adjust:
Unclip the elongated brass wire link (it's clips back on to itself)
& make your adjustment by rotating the socket joint adjuster.
With throttle wide open, check that a gap of at least 3mm exists between the side of link & side of small vertical spring.
Realign by bending the link to achieve correct gap.
Recheck clearance at closed/open.
Check link slides smoothly in groove of throttle lever.
If you already have this gap, then probably not, apart from what scouse has said &/or a weak bellows.
