The more I read up on the Spider the more it sounds like it's going to be that. I hope i've got an alarm/immobiliser on there!

Qatar is probably not like anything would have been 15 years ago and not too much like Saudi. It's more like Dubai and reasonably civilised!

Fuel is 0.8 QAR (for the high Octane stuff) $0.2USD a litre. If you're on a budget it's 0.7QAR $0.19USD a litre. Let me know how much you want posting.

To my knowledge the GULF spec cars didn't have the imobiliser fitted as standard. My mate had the Discovery FXi which is top of the GULF Spec range and even that didn't have it.

The symptoms sound very much like the ignition amp that sits behind the front drivers side head light. It gets hot with age and stalls the car without notice. Once it cools down after five minutes the engine fires up and goes for another fifteen minutes before dying again.
You have to remove two 10mm or 13mm bolts to get the coil off...then there are two tiny 7mm screws holding the amp on. There are a couple of electrical plugs too.
When refitting the new amp be sure to use the small satchet of heat dissipating grease that comes with the amp. Smear it on the back of the amp before refitting.
They are about 250Dhs in Dubai...don't know what your Riyal rate is...sorry.

    Regards.

Clean the wire mesh on the MAF with the circuit board cleaner ... It won't fix your problem ... but it will give you better fuel & idle performance (maintenance only)
I am sure you meant to spray the contact cleaner into the small hole on the left of the opening until the two wires are clean.

While cleaning the mesh will make the MAF prettier it is like breast transplants, having no functional purpose.

Correct, no alarm system to fitted.

Got it towed away, should have some more info tomorrow. Will let you know the outcome.
