I have a dashlight on my 97 Discovery just suddenly stays on, its not listed in the ownewrs manual..
The light is a side view of the car with a key symbol horizontaly inside.. its located above the fuel guage on the right hand side of the battery light.
Could anyone advise as to what this light represents?
Thanks for your time
It is part of the alarm/immobiliser. It comes on to indicate the engine is immobilised. The workshop manual says it'll also come on if you try to start the car without the remote being within range of the car
Try sticking new batteries in your plip, the signal to the coil will be strengthened & the light will dissapppear.![]()
Tried using the unlock on the remote, the engine starts but the warning light is still on.
Tried new battery in the remote...same result , warning light still on, but engine starts..
