The pockets in the 5 seater are handy for storing stuff. To fit them you need to pull the seats, brackets, belts and get the full rear trim from a 5 seater though.
I pulled mine out as I put in a false floor.
hello all,
wehn i got my disco about a week ago now, i relized that Eco was a seven seater. now i'm guessing that i wont be driving around anymore than 4 ppl so is it worth me pulling the seats out and selling them or just leave them in. when pulled out are there any advantages????

The Dickie seats are only OK for short people on a really short drive. MY FIL did central OZ with one of the Kids in the back. I ripped mine out, as I had a shelf and some speaker boxes there, but I replaced them back to stock when I Sold the car.
Stu
Also easier to change rear globes with it out
Left mine in because don't really gain that much extra space by pulling em out, plus i now use them to support a plywood base when i set the disco up for sleeping
I can't get the kids out of mine. Even if I it is just me and 2 kids they always opt to sit in the rear dickie seats. When I pick my daughter up after school with 4-5 of her friends they actually fight over the dickie seats (go figure).
I certainly would not want to travel far in them but they serve their purpose for me. I love the way they fold into the sides and almost totally out of the way unlike many other rear type seating.
If Kids are not on your option list then it is a mute question! I would use the space for some side storage bins/nets.

EVERYONE,
That has 7 seats, wants 5
EVERYONE,
That has 5 seats, wants, needs 7
Including me.![]()
I took one out of the D1 and had a metal security box fabricated to fit the space; used the seat brackets to bolt it in place. Now have the D2 and still undecided.. one thing on both is that the roll out boot covering does not fit properly unless you have either seats or boxes - so if you want to use that to hide what may be in the boot then keep them in until you have an alternative!
