Fair enough. It just seems that all your recent posts have been telling people to buy direct from the UK rather than from local importers.
If we all did that, pretty soon we'd have no local suppliers at all.![]()
NOT AT ALL MATE , I LIKE GOOD SERVICE AND REASONABLE PRICES AND WHILE I HAVE RECEIVED GREAT SERVICE FROM AUSSIE RANDROVER SHOPS AND DEALLERS THE PRICES STINK, I HAVE HAD WONDERFULL SERVICE AND VERY GOOD PRICES DELIVERED TO MY DOOR ON MANY OCCASIONS, THANKYOU PADDOCK SPARES AND BRITISH PARTS
I BUY AUSTRALIAN MADE PRODUCTS WHEN EVER THERE AVAILABLE EVEN IN THE SUPERMARKET IT DOESNT GO IN MY TROLLEY UNLESS ITS AUSTRALIAN MADE OR THERES NO AUSTRALIAN MADE ALTERNIITIVE. I DONT KNOW OF A ROVER PARTS MANUFACTURER IN AUSTRALIA OTHER WISE I WOULD BUY AUSTRALAIN MADE ROVER PARTS

Yes I agree with what Ron says but not if it means shedding out far more $ than you need to for the same part.
For decades local suppliers had the market pretty much cornered. And there were certainly some hefty prices around compared to what was on offer elsewhere, but not so accessible back then.
The advent of the online stores, ebay and fast delivery services has changed all that forever and the locals have to become cost competitive. And some things are just not available here anyway, or the local product is inferior (rarely but it does happen).
I guess I buy 60% of car parts from overseas these days mainly from the UK and US. Freight is often the biggest cost component now, sometimes costing more than the part itself.
Rovercraft in Melb wont sell them.
No one reputable will fit them as they are illegal unless they have an adr approval...

Pertech in Mascot.
made to any length $99 each.
But you will have to take the old ones in for them to make them up so they get the end fittings right.
I looked a couple of weeks ago and there was no one who made longer hoses that would take the old ones off and fit the new ones.
Unless you want to pay a local mechanic to do the job for you, and all he'll do is take the old ones off and send them to Pertech for the new ones to be made up.
p.s. Pertech use Brakequip hoses that are ADR
