Hi my TDI was heating up under load and did the usual replace Viscious fan flush radiator. All seemed fine except when long hill climb under load. Finaly took radiator out to have roded and found the core had started to deteriate (rotting as the radiator specialist advised) Tanks and oil coolor OK so have replaced three core with new Four core and reused tanks ..

try a chemical flush of the cooling system and top it off with the correct coolant.

while your doing that make sure that the air side of the radiator is clean (IE doesnt have bugs in it.

IF that brings no joy then your looking at In no particular order potentially a blocking radiator, failing pump, blocked coolant galeries, or the thermostat not opening fully.

I cant see it being a gasket, head, liner or porosity unless your also getting pressurization of the cooling system (while its hot the hoses will be like rocks) or loosing coolant.
