    Question MAF Cleaning

Gday All, I have read in a few threads that its recommended to clean the MAF, is this just the connection or is it a more detailed clean-out ?
    Thanks and Cheers Ean

The inside of the MAF (on the 14CUX) has a port to the side. the port has 2 wires and as the air passes through the wires, heat, and voltage is created. The voltage tells the ECU the airflow. To clean the MAF, you can either take them apart or leave them together, but using non contact electrical cleaner will clean it. Just spray it over the whole MAF and make sure you are thorough when you spray around the wires. Its the wires that get covered in crap and need cleaning.
    Cheers,

    Ben.

Boxer, did you source some locally or buy it from the states?

I just checked freight on that site and US$70.. to get a $6.50 can here is slightly out of the budget
