    Changing From Manual To Auto

    Hi Mates
    I have a 91 2door Disco 3.5ltr 5 spd manual
it has gearbox clunk and needs atention
I ended up getting a whole complete 86 RangeRover
with a 4 spd Auto I plan on swapping the auto into
my Disco If so do I have to swap the Engine control unit
or does the Auto have its own control unit
    thanks mates

No computer for the ZF auto box. its all valve controlled. The engine may have a different set up for the auto box but it wont require a new ecu

edit: Its strange, i want to swap my ZF for a manual box...
    Cheers,

    Ben.

As Ben said, just bolt the auto in and away you go.

There will be a fair bit of detail work to do, such as kickdown cable, transmission cooler, etc.

The Auto cooler should go in front of the radiator,,,

stick your head under an auto and see how the lines run
