    Question Mounting Air Compressor

Gday All,just wondering if/where to mount an air compressor when have a Dual battery under the bonnet, cant see any space left there.I have the cd stacker under the drivers seat(not even sure if it would fit under the seat anyway)
Has anyone come up with a suitable spot, must be if airlockers are fitted..would be interested to hear where from fellow D2 owners.
    thanks and Cheers Ean

I have mine mounted in the rear left quarter panel behind the molded tub to the side of the rear cargo area. There is a vented panel on each side. If you remove this panel you will see that there is a fair amount of space behind there.

Its fairly easy to get power back there and you can easily plumb the air hose out to the rear of the car. I have a hose connector tapped into the face plate of the tow bar for easy access.

Mine is on the right hand side quarter panel as I have rear a/c on the left. there is room for my ARB compressor along with its hose in the empty space. simply take off the grill to access.

There are a few threads on this issue if you look. One suggestion by someone (I am a little hazy on the details) was behind the front light on opposite side of the water washer tank. Apparently you remove the front wheel arch panel to gain access. Another suggestion (my preferred) is to move the second battery to the rear (if you have the 5 seater) in one of the storage paniers and mount the compressor on the dual battery tray.

I put my 2nd battery in the cradle on the chassis under the front passenger seat. I am told this is usually for equipment for discos with ACE. I did this as i didn't want the battery in the usual place under the bonnet near the turbo due to the heat (I live in Central Australia so it gets very hot under there in the summer). I then placed the compressor under the bonnet instead as it is further from the turbo than the battery would have been when fitted and isn't affected by the heat. Not sure if this helps but thought i would let you know. good luck - cheers JP

The smallest of the ARB compressors is the CKSA12 and that will go onto a bracket under the bonnet without too much difficulty.
I have it running twin lockers on my DI. The CKSA will run sideways which makes fitting it to a verticle bracket quite easy.

    Regards.

This sounds like what I'm about to try. Do you have any pictures. Also I was hoping in the long term to fit air lockers. Does the compressor you have fitted work with air lockers?
