This was the best visual reference with dimensions I could find recently when I was doing a camel cut for my Bighorns.
Hope I'm not upsetting anyone by linking to another site:
    Land Rover Forum

Best way to cut it is an angle grinder with a thin cutting disk (think they are about 1mm thick).

Hmmm thanks dullbird thats pretty much the exact setup I'm looking for.

I'm interested in the rims, what was the cost on those and is that a 12mm or a -12mm offset I thought you would want to have the tyres sitting further out to avoid loosing the turning circle

Or am I confused and the positive offset moves the tyres out and a negative offset moves them closer in ?

I've had my eye on these but theres no mention of sizes, my understanding was Rangerover rims were the same as the D1

with bigger tyres you need to lift the forks higher, and do some guard work.
then first trip out you find you need to add more - new rear axles.

Yes I lifted the car on forks high the first time we cut them that was with the 255/70's on the 245/75's are not that much different in Dia hence we were only putting it up to check it still missed.

Damn seems you got the last set of those rims and I'm looking at a 1 - 2 month wait before they are in stock again

they still have the 16x8 but only with a 6mm offset which means i'd need flairs

I stayed away from the 16x8 although told by the guys on here gives me a better range of bigger tyre sizes as I was told big tyres on wider rims I was asking for rubbing

I dont reckon they would stick out but more chance of rubbing on flex I think

Bought a set of Pirelli Scorpions 245/70/16 to replace my third set of bridgestone duellers 694. At this point not thinking it was a good idea. They look nice but wander a lot over the road. Cornering on slight bends at 100kph requires constant 'driving' 'steering' through the bend, whereas the bridgestones just stuck to the road and made everything seem effortless. Got 85 to 90k out of the bridgestones,,,,,,hoping I will get used to the new tread/brand. Any opinions out there ? Done some off road work, mainly sand tracks and beach work and they perform ok but even with air down to 15 lbs seemed to struggle through soft drift sand, but I appreciate that the chunky tread probably cuts into the sand too much.
