    discovery 2 into a discovery 1

I'm new to the Land Rover scene and am wondering if the seats from a 2004 discovery 2 will fit into a 1999 discovery 1? Thanks!

I've not physically tried this myself, but was told that the seats will not directly fit between D1 and D2.

It is something to do with the bases being of different dimensions.

Although, I would have thought that you could knock up an adaptor plate or something to join the D2 seats to the D1 bases. But maybe thats not safe etc.

I have seat bases out of a Disco at the moment (96) before they changed them slightly in the later updates.

Bolts C/c (from PS to DS) 325mm

Bolts (C/c) (front to back) 245mm

Need Torx T40 bit to pull them out (Passenger seat is a PITA!!!!)

    Cheers
    Dave.

I asked the guy who is selling them and he reckons they will fit. Is he pulling my leg just to get a sale?

it depends as whether or not there was any changes between the late D1's and the early D2's. I do know that D2 seat do not fit in a D1 I asked the same question to bundaleen that sells a lot of disco bits as I wanted D2 seats for my D1 some time ago.....in saying that your car verges on a D2 (if it isn't one) if your car is in fact a late98 registered in 99 then they wont fit! if its an early D2 (I would expect to see your tail lights up in the D2 postion) then yes they will.

Probably, I bought them and found they were different bases. Ended up giving them away on here and bought more on ebay. Not expensive at $25 each. I'd say don't take them.
