Welds look good. You're a lucky man to have a tig.
Since starting Tafe a few months ago I'd only really been welding bit of metal together, so last night I decided to have a crack at something. So because my Ford is going to be a drag car, it won't need a washer bottle, so I'm making this oil catch can to replace it.
I started off with scrap alloy just cause I wasn't sure how it'd come out, but ended up being ok. New catch can to replace the washer bottle. Gonna add some fittings and a drain next week.

Semester 1 finished in a coupla months, then onto Sem 2. Doing it at Granville Tafe.
Nice welding. How long did it take you to practice to get that good?
I did a 2 day welding course at TAFE and got quite a bit better, but I think it takes a LOT of practice to become good.
I was Thinking the same thing..... obviously was a pastry chef looking at the neat pie crust crimping
Looks good.!!
I don't have to wish I had a tig..... my mate just bought himself an industrial one..... I might just get him to practice on some projects I had in mindsaves me having to buy one

Those welds look good Boxer, are they a result of many hours of practice or do you have a bit of natural gift for it. Some people do, they just pick up the tig and can go at it, most have to practice for hundreds of hours.
Tig welding is quite an expensive prosess, so get in as many projects out of the way at tafe as you can.
Keep up the good work![]()
