D1 - 1992 Bad squeeking when taking off on an angle
Hi Folks,
Could use some help. I took the D1 for a spin on the weekend. Great time. Ended up going up a very steep track my Tojo driving mate was not keen on....! : )
Anyway, it was steep........
CDL low noooooooooooo probs!!!
Comming down I had to stop mid way on a bend as a trailbike guys had come off. When I started again she was squeeking.
Got to the bottom took off and a grinding squeeking noise on the right drivers side. Shifted back to CDL high went away.
Shifted to normal high started again. Been off and on mostly only when the car is on an angle...
I have not been driving through the week, gonna get under with the grease gun this weekend....?
Any ideas, does not sounds too good.... even though car druives great. Appreciated.
Best regards
Jay

Oh,
Forget, I had most of the bushes underneath done and this is the first real test. Thought that might be the cause... But when she starts up the noise sounds like a scraping disc....... cyclic....... definatly with the rotation of the wheel...... U.V joint..........?
Thanks again

Lots of probable causes ... Jack each side of the car up and grab the side of the wheel ... give it a push / pull ... Check for wheel bearing play
and ... how much of the brake pads left do you have?? ... Front & rear
