id just like to hear some feed back. bloke on outers reckons to look into the 2.8 isuzu, which isnt a bad motor. i know most people will say why bother, go td5 etc, but i want something reliable, cheap, and wont leak, lol. and as i said before, just in research mode atm.

thats what i'm saying with the can of worms...you only have to see the bashing the puma owner gets because they have the 2.4 ford transit engine......

the majority of people on here thing there a pile of ****! so your probably not going to get very favourable reviews on it.

I could be wrong......but I wish I had a dollar for everytime someone told us the worst thing that happened to our car was a ford engine going in it

I'd be leaning more towards the Chev Duramax if you're into diesel conversions

im not too sure that a 6.6 deisel would fit in the little thing. (well thats the only size ive seen) last truck had a 6.2l chev in it and i think i would run into alot of size issues with somthing like that

The 6.6 Duramax are narrower than the 6.5d but taller (because of the Turbo being in the centre on top) and I think the same length (or close enough) and apparently sit on 350chev engine mounts so shouldnt be that hard to fit.

I know plenty of hoons with 350's in Disco's and Rangies and Ive read a couple of the guys on here have had 6.5's in rovers but I dont know how much stuffing around there is to fit them.

I would prefer the Duramax over the Transit anyday, Aust post northern vic contract mechanic hates them with a passion and has seen every type of failure you can think of but then again, they do get caned by the posties.

Duramax would be about 1,000,000,000 times cooler too

Even if it does sound like a brand of condoms
