mick, i dont mind doing whats needed to fit the size i want i just wanted to know what it is i have to do so i can hit it all in 1 go, loanrangie when you say modded bumpstops whats involved in that
Need a v8 too
In my opinion if your worried about cost I would settle for 235 85 16 which is a bit under 32's which in BFG muddies would set you back around the $1200 mark I believe from last I priced some.
If you go limiting travel to be able to fit bigger tyres then your throwing away why most people buy a landy.....flex.
If your only wanting 33's for the look then by all means go reduce the travel but if you use it off road I personally wouldn't.
If you fit the 15's and 33" tyres and then you need some flares and need to cut the guards then you will be well over your $1000 by about another $1000 or so then but I suppose you wont have to flare and cut it again for the next set of tyres.
Just to clear this one up, I take mine offroad, most of the Sydney guys who've seen it in action would agree that it's pretty damn capable and I haven't even touched my bump stops. And when we were at Ourimbah last time, some bloke asked me what kind of lockers I was running... none, and still none until I get the time to fit it.
oh... and it looks cool :P so I'm told
So dirt "by all means", don't just take one persons word for it
being that i do 90% of the work on my disco there's no way it cost another 1k to get flares, fit them and chop the guards, and the reason i am thinking of 15 inch rims is once i have the rims and i need new tyres they are $540 for 4 , and anyone that has been out with me know i do like a lot of right foot, and yes its a v8
i ran mine 2 inch lift, bought some lra flares, cut out the guards to suit and didnt really have a problem. (oh i run -25mm offset rims) would scrap in the front when starting to flex but this is all solved now.
