So I have my disco back

    Ok well well well.......

I haven't driven on a long run yet over 100k's to see whether the vibs have gone and the significant light steering.

But what I have had done to the car......

    • Complete poly bush kit....(which I think are too hard so has soon as I get some spare cash they will be coming out and superpros will go in)
    • new greasable A frame ball joint.
    • New timing belt (found the car had never had the recall done for the timing belt pulley)
    • timing case bearing for the fan pulley...(was shot)
    • another new serpentine belt with a rough back (both the ones I have brought have a shiny back and that was what was causing the noise)
    • Rear pinion seal done
    • rear window rubbers changed
    • looks like they thankfully adjusted my handbrake
    • Swivel preload....I had less than 1lb preload on the swivels
    • Big end bearings check..was reported that they are in immaculate condition no signs of wear what so ever.

I know just have to get a full set of break pads to put in and a new steering damper.

The car feels very tight now....my only complaint is it feels like a bit of a slug and now really feels like it needs it pump tweaked. it could be because I haven't driven it for a week....but it almost feels like I'm driving with the handbrake on one click.

What's going to happen next? muffler coming out....and that's about it.

Does anyone know who sells bendix pads straight off the shelf if anyone?

So i wont know until tomorrow whether the issues I had are completely resolved...they did say that my wheel could be an issue as the hole on the wheel is big and there for doesn't contact the hub nice and tight so relying on the wheel nuts to center the wheel if slightly out could cause vibrations. The also have concerns about my wheel balance they couldn't balance my wheels as they never had a cone big enough to fit my center. but they are surprised with big tyres and steel wheels that i need less than 10grams in weight per wheel. But just said to drive it and see how it goes.

So thanks everyone for your advice and comments over the past couple of weeks hopefully the car will run right for a while

Driving like a slug is a bit of a worry. I wonder if the pump timing is now out slightly after the timing belt was done.

yeah i did wonder.....but they test drove it more than once and they seemed to be happy with the way its driving.

It might be because of have been driving the baby's toy that rattles when you put a battery in it.

If the pump is out would there be any other signs? can it cause damage?

Lack of power is generally the only sign if it's slightly out.

How's the belt serpentine running now? Has the bounce in the tensioner disappeared?
