    My Current and future vehicle

Here's a photo of my Discovery taken last weekend at the end of a 5km black soil "track" - the new KM2's worked great.

And this is my new off road vehicle:

And in the future, which when I'm finished with it will look like this:

Just a few months of hard work ahead

Hope you're going to keep the hydraulic feet on.

    No van's-a-rockin here.

Oh, and never have to carry a jack again.

hey Ian have you still got the roof bars fitted on the disco with the contoured rack?

How did you manage that? or is it an optical illusion

Yet, still have - a bit of aluminium spacers and some trimming of one of the supports to rest on top of the OEM roof bars and it fits great.

The rack is aluminium, and I was a bit worried about the weight of a 6th wheel up there if I took the roof bars off - this way the OEM roof bars support the weight of the wheel and load is spread out a bit more.

I have wanted one of these racks for ages but have the bars up there. was going to get the bars taken off but now seeing that it looks ok.....you got any closer pictures?

of how you modified the rack? (if its not to much hassle)

My new truck is sitting in my driveway - and it's big - what was I thinking

Here's a photo with my 32" ( 265/75-16) wheel next to it, and these are the small tyres - 11x20's which I will be replacing with 14.5x20's - the size recommended by Unimog for on/off road use.

    .

Dullbird, I will take some photos of the roof rack mods on the weekend - I tried to take some this evening but they don't show much due to shadows from the flash etc.

    Hi Iain,
What size tyres do you have on your disco and what are you flares?
Do you have a side on photo you could post?
    Thanks

That camper van is the only way I'd get my Mrs to go on an off road weekend - that's if there is a shower in there.

I have 256-75/16 on 16x8 ( 0mm offset) rims. I have the plastic flares from Paddocks in the UK and a 2" spring lift.

I'll take some photos, unfortunately there is a big Unimog behind the Discovery, so I can't get it out. I'll be moving the truck to it's "hospital" for cosmetic surgery tomorrow all going well - and I will take a few photos.
