    New Springs and Shocks Fitted

Yay, finally got my new springs and shocks today and fitted them tonight (with the help of my next door neighbour).

Got a set of Dobinson springs and Ultima shocks from Shane at Suspension Stuff in Qld (Shameless free commercial). Came highly recommended from this site and I wasn't disappointed.

The difference in ride and handling is amazing Now very smooth and no noise from clunking shocks which were totally stuffed.
Very impressed, and a 2" lift into the bargain.

I know the rulez so here's some pics. Will post more when it is light enough to see properly.

I'm interested in doing this, what's it look like from a way off. Just wondering if you have to get bigger tyres too...

Does it ride like a couch now?

Looks awesome from a distance, more agressive stance now.
Harder for the young bloke to get in though. He is 5yo and a bit short so takes abit of climbing.
Pirelli Scorpion AT LT245/70R16 tyres fitted last year after the Michelins wore out. These tyres are approx. 15mm bigger on diameter but this now puts the speedo back to normal, was originally reading 5kmh too slow. Wanted to go the Maxxis Bighorns but the vehicle was too low (standard, sagged) and I didn't want to cut the guards to make them fit.
Suspension is softer now than the previous setup but I like that. Ride is now real smooth. We have a few roundabouts here which are about 3-4 inches high. I can now drive over them and hardly notice the bump.

Went with the Ultima shocks. Haven't heard of them before, but the warranty is good. Came highly recommended from Shane. Supposedly firmer ride than the Lovells. Couldn't afford the Boss.

    Looks good Warren!

Which model of springs did you get for the front and back, eg C51-015?

    Does it sit level?

    Looks good.

What spring rate and shock rate did you use?

I'm looking to do a 2" lift but most places try to push harder shocks on you and I want a smooth ride with lots of articulation, not a spine jarring ride.

Any problems with the new hight and covered car parks?

    front springs C51-014, rear C51-022
Ultima shocks front 400510, rear 400515.
Sits slightly higher in the rear when empty but level with the 3 kids in the back and the normal gear I carry, (drawer setup, tools, basic recovery gear).
