    New Disco owner in NZ

    Hi all,
    just introducing myself

I am new to Discoveries having brought a 1994 S1 a couple of weeks ago. Standard 300tdi (fully rebuilt) and running 235/85/16 tyres. So far it has proven to be comfortable, roomy, slow, great for the family (they love it) and I am looking forward to performing minor mods to take it into the NZ wilderness.

From owning a 1982 Toyota FJ40, this truck feels fantastic but not quite as tough. Time will tell!!

Looking forward to gaining heaps of advice over the next few years from the forum as my relationship with the Disco grows.

    cheers Greg

    Good Purchase

Where are you in NZ? I'm in Taupo, I have a 94 200Tdi Disco, great vehicles. You will get some BS from the 'Darkside', but most of them don't know what they are talking about.
There is an NZ owners group at NZLANDROVEROwners : New Zealand Land Rover Owners Club., look forward to seeing you there!

    Hi mate

Welcome to the wonderfull world of discos. You will definitly need to sort out suspension. procomp shocks 27.5 inch frt and 29.5 inch rears. Remove rear sway bar make some dislocation cones for the rear. Also the are some small adjustments you can make to the fuel pump to give some more power, but before you do this you will need to have a pyro gauge (EGT)
All this can be searched on this forum.
Have a llok at some of my previous posts and threads

    Welcome Greg.
This a great site and I have picked up lots of info from it.
I reckon keep your Disco stock for a wee while till you find out what needs to done to it. You will be pretty impressed with what a standard Disco will do. I would keep an eye on Trademe for parts that pop up every now and then.
