unable to open bonnet after replacing bonnet cable

i just replaced the bonnet release cable. i thought everything was working but after shutting it the bonnet only released sort of half way. i thought i made it pull enough to release it all the way but i guess not. how would i go about opening the bonnet now? is it caught on something hence not fully releasing?

Hi mate, i had this problem on my defender 110, i m assuming you have a 110? if so take the front plastic grill off. the bonnet latch is underneath the brace that supports the two wheel arches. the latch that the bonnet cable is attached to can be accessed from here although it is a little awkward. give that a small shove with abit of wood and a mallet the bonnet should pop then.

He's posted in the Discovery section, so prob not a 110

What happens if you get someone to push down on the bonnet whilst you try and open it? Taking the pressure off the catch might be enough to get it opened, and then you can have another go at adjusting it.

well i had enough and so i pretty much used some force to open the bonnet. it looks like one of the brackets the top one wasn't getting lined up and gettting caught on. well problem solved.
