I am a stay at home Dad too but due to injury when I was self employed. I am very aware of the money things esp when I had cash to play with at my descression on my toys. Now I have never worked so hard it never ends with the washing, cooking and cleaning but I have super respect of my wonderful wife as she did all when I was working 80 hours a week and odd hours to get things finished. My wife now is a Body Shop @ Home consultant and makes the same as me in 6 months so I am reluctant to change things for a while. But I need to work so I am working on some of my own plans but that is 6 months off yet before things happen.
I have got three kids aged 7,3 and 1.
Good luck with bull bar issue may be buying a wreck and off loading the bits you dont want may get what your after.

Injury was carpal tunnel with major nerve damage so after 2 surgeries its permanent and I still get numb hands from over doing it which appears is my specialty. :-)..
Thanks but life is good and I am loving the time with the kids kinder and school runs etc, I have what I have and it beats a lot of other stuff so I am very grateful.
    Thanks for your thoughts

Same boat here james just without the injury. But god have i tried looking for work in my area which is a panel beater and could not find anything that i could survive on, so my wife the same as your is working her little heart out doing 50 - 60hrs a week as a supervisor in a rsl club trying to pay rent and the rest of it. I have a 2 and a half year old and a 8month little boys who i adore and love cleaning up after them especialy after the 2 and ahalf year old lol. But dont want to sound like a blugger but love staying home with them to see em grow up so fast. The main reason why i need to fix the disco up is because when we go camping with the oldest his eyes just light up when he drives in daddys truck, oh and its the only car we have under our name. So time do get a bit tough but i guess we all just have to pull up our socks and do whats best for our families.

    cheers simon
