What hidden nut?
You have to install the cargo barrier mounting nuts if it is a Milford barrier.
If you don't have the instructions, I have posted them here:

I am trying to instal a cargo barrier, but dont have the template to find the hidden nut under the alpine sky light. Its a 98 d1.
Can some one with a barrier fitted please take a measurement from the center of the seat belt bolt back to the center of the captive nut and the distance between the two edges of the raized panel covering it ,eg 72mil down from the top edge.
Thanks.

I recently replaced my head lining and there was definitely no captive nut there, only the the seat belt anchor bolt
Thanks for the heads up crew.

Hey Sly
I have recently done this install myself, but instead of following the Milford instructions I borrowed an nutsert machine to insert captive nuts in the bodywork below the alpine window. It looks a lot neater in my opinion, and a lot less work
Cheers
