Are the yellow and blue wires thicker ?
If they are the ign. feed wires they should be the same as on the back of your ign. switch.
If the red is power it should be fused when you fit it.

hey all just got a bogaard turbo timer off markets and was wondering if anyone knows hows they install???
it has
x1 red wire - take it its power
x1 yellow ?????
x1 black - earth
x1 sky blue ?????
now im guessing yellow and blue are ing in and out, where can i find them???? ing in could find with lead light once ing is switch on but whats ing out????

not exactly familiar with this brand of timer. but from what i know of other timers, they you'll use wiring like:
Red - Constant +12V
Yellow - Ignition +12V
Black - Earth
Blue - Accessory +12V
Or cut the ignition wire on the back of the barrel, and connect Blue wire to one side, yellow to the other. So the timer is "bridging" the ignition line. Thinking of the circuitry, can't imagine it would matter which wire you connect to what side
as Alien said, you'll want to fuse the constant 12v (Red) wire.
yeh if it had a plug, it wouldn't need a fuse as it would be using the constant +12V that goes to barrel, which would already be fused from factory.
If you're running a new +12V line, usually a good idea to run a seperate fuse for it, just to isolate it a bit.
is this the 724/st4 model?
if so all the connections are done from behind the fuse box on the drivers side.
i have a 1998 tdi.
will pull down the fuse box tomorrow and give the colours and connections.
satellite fuse panel #1 is where most for the connections go to.
only fuses 1 and 3 get used on my timer hookup.
i definaltley have the 724/st4 model with 4 wires, red, black, white, blue.
my car manual list these fuses back to frnt so i will list them from left to right.
1. 15amp, one wire, bottom purple---- the red wire from the timer is linked into this one.
2. 20amp two wires, top brown, bottom blue-purple trace----not used.
3. 10amp one wire, bottom white-green trace---- this wire needs to be cut. the white wire from the timer gets connected to the fuse panel end of the cut. the blue wire from the timer gets connected to the now loose end of the white-green trace wire.
4. 5amp one wire bottom red-yellow trace---- not used.
5. 10amp two wires top white bottom green-pink trace---- not used.
6. 25amp two wires top purple bottom brown---- not used.
the black from the timer just gets earthed out to the car.

Interesting thread, I just picked up a 97 TDi and looking to do the turbo timer thing just incase the Mrs drives it (highly unlikely).
