I guys/gals I have a D1 V8i that I am converting to twin SU's after having a cast amount of EFi problems. I am from South Africa. D1 has Ironman lift with 30mm spacers and 265/75/16 Hankook Rt03.s.
I must admit I agree with Phil. While the injection system on the DI apprears to have about half of it not connected to anything it is pretty reliable. In nearly ten years of owning my 94V8i I have only had a solinoid terminal break on No/8 cylinder, made it run rougher than a chook with it's head cut off. Also some issues with the MAF sensor, which while not the actual injectors have a direct effect on them.
What are the problems you are having with it and hopefully we can help?
P.S. if you are determinded to go carbies there are better ones than su's

The Lucas 14CUX hotwire system is relatively simple and reliable, if a little crude by later standards. In the 14 years my Disco has been on the road I've only ever had one problem with it, and that was a duff TPS which was easily and inexpensively replaced. Problems are far more likely to occur with the Lucas ignition system.
I had twin SUs on my Rover SD1 and they were more of a problem. I replaced them with an Edelbrock.
