What model year is your Disco?
And do you have the right frequency remote?
When I bought my car the previous owner had lost the keys and remote. He had a locksmith cut new keys, and I have since aquired a remote. I have been to two (1 x ex) Land Rover dealers and a well respected L.R. specialist to tune the remote in, to no avail. Can anyone tell me:Thanks in antisipation,
- Is there a sequence, ie lights/wipers/ignition on/off to 'tune it'
- If so what is it
- Anyone who can fix it up
Ian.

I bought the remote from a guy in Gympie, via e-bay. My car falls into the age group advertised as suitable for this item. The problem seems to be the lack of a communication port on my car, to enable it to be done via computer. Thanks DB and Scouse.

If you have a 1995 (MA) and it's not an ES, then it has no alarm system fitted.
If you have a 1996 onwards, then it has a factory alarm with a 2 button remote & the data link connector is in the RH footwell, near the console.

No wonder you can't get the remote to work - your car does not have an alarm system(not factory anyway).
The ES has the grey alloy wheels, leather, electric seats......
The flashing light on the radio is just a 'dummy' alarm light.

When you lock the doors with the key,do the indicators flash 3 times?
Also do you have the motion sensor thingy me do above the rear vision
mirror? Ive got an ES 95 Disco with the single button remote and the red
flashing light under the radio. When i got my new remote i had to do the sequence as well. Its pretty easy. But if you have the 2 button remote then its different again. You need to link it and have it programmed.
