    Steering drop arm advice please

    Fellows,
    Could you offer advice please? There is a lot of slop/play evident in the drop arm spline where it engages the steering box sector shaft. Is it a simple matter of tightening the locknut to remove the slop/play, do I replace the drop arm or worse case do I replace both the drop arm and steering box sector shaft?

    They have a habit of coming loose, so i would try tightning it up first, they usually have a locking tab, but this still doesn't stop them working loose, we use heaps of plumbers tape wrapped around the thread, works for a while....
