    97 TDI windscreen

I have a crack running from the back off the rearview mirror to halfway down the windscreen. I asked Obriens Wagga if they can fix it, they said no and quoted over $600 to replace it!!! Is this a normal price?

Ring around, o'briens gave me that price as well . Stonechips etc can be fixed but not large/long cracks.

The last time I paid for a windscreen in my Rangie (same screen, IIRC) it cost me about $200.

$600 seems very expensive to me.

Price will depend on whether they are just putting new glass in or are also doing the rubber windscreen trim. That sounds about right if it's the full monty.

If you plan on keeping the vehicle, replace the windscreen rubbers. There are plenty of leaking windscreen stories around......

The price is about right. Check the prices with British 4WD for the top, bottom and left and right side trims.

The screen should be about $160/170 and it is set in polyurethane. But the trims will usually be damaged in removal as they are set under the edge of the screen on installation.

I found that if I supplied the trims the cost was a fair bit less. Average cost for trims was about $340.

Just had mine done for RWC by Toorak Tractors in Braeside, Vic for about 160. I think they've got a deal with a local mobile guy. Didn't leak in the crazy storms we've had since.
