    ...or was it 150kg??

Either way, I remember it was a significant saving when I did it to a Range Rover which I used to use for touring.

    • Are you taking passengers? If not, pull the rear seats & carpets out... It'll save you approx 250KG

You have to be VERY strict with yourself about weight.

Shedding the weight will also help make the car more reliable as it won't be constantly stressed...

I know it's a bitter pill to swallow but the GVM is there for a reason!

no way , how am i going to keep the rest of the world from freezing in winter if i dont maintain my fuel usage of 23 L /100 pushing around an extra 600 kg of steel for short trips to the local grocrey store, the misses and kids would not like the idea of nothing to sit on, the roof rack pays for it self, even with the extra fuel usage, we used it today to transport a bed set, saved 80 bucks in delivery. i say go big or go home.

Put mine on the weighbridge near Seymour on the hume the other day.
2500kg with me in it. 1200 front, 1300 rear
It is close to in expedition nick including about 80 litres of fuel, bullbar, winch with cable, steel sliders, 2 batteries, 150 litre tank, engel, spares, recovery gear etc.
I take from that that when full loaded for a trip with full fuel load that it will be close to max gvm of 2720..at least early in the trip.
Car has done a number of rough remote desert trips with no reliability issues thus far.
It is due for a full pre trip inspection and service for another trip this september.
