You're looking at the right bit. Check that the plug is correctly secured after cleaning it out. If the problem persists, the transducer will probably need to be replaced.
If you've got double jointed, 12" fingers and a 5mm hex key, you can do the job with the trans brake drum on. But if you're normal... front bolts on rear propshaft, brake drum, backing plate to one side, clean the area up, remove transducer and replace with new, replace backing plate, drum, propshaft, plub and go for a spin.
Tools - 5 mm allen key, 9/16" spanner (or 3/8 wobble drive & 9/16 socket) for the prop shaft, #3 philllips driver for the trans brake drum, 1/2 drive 15mm socket, short extension and breaker bar for the backing plate. Put new 3/8 UNF nyloc nuts on the propshaft bolts when replaceing them
Did this little job twice today!!!
