PM Smally4.6 here, he has the same vehicle with the same transplant. Pretty straightforward.

Has anyone done this transplant? What downfalls do I need to be careful of? I'm led to believe that it should bolt straight in! Any help would be greatly appreciated![]()

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Am thinking about this conversion myself in the future so would love to find out what the go is.
I too would be very interested in finding out how simple or hard it would be to fit a 4.6, do they use the same clutch if they are a manual etc.
Is the standard 3.9 radiator up to the extra capacity and engine output.
I'm guessing just like a body raise to make it legal with the various RTA's etc around the country you would need to get it engineer certified.
cheers,
Terry
hmmm would be something i'd consider if the 3.9 gives me dramas *touch wood* however i believe the 4.6s are more prone to having slipped liners.
I have fitted a 4.6 in to my 96 Auto Disco dropped in snug as a BUG !!
With my 4.6, I picked up the complete front timing cover housing and the alloy sump, and I also converted it to complete coil pack and got rid of the Distributor and run a Wolf Engine management system, But it will work fine just using the 3.9 front timing cover and run all the same system as your 3.9 has now.
I Also put in much better injectors.
I am more than pleased than happy with the results.
The wolf allowed me to get rid of that bloody Air Flow meter too
Please feel free to ask any questions if you like !
I also have a 4.6 that I'm pulling out of my P38 (in the wrecking section) that I am selling soon.
Cheers
Jeremy
