    Glad it was not the belt!

    A good way to check if the belts gone. Take the oil cap off, shine torch in (if dark), get someone to crank her over, if the starter motor turns and the rockers move..... it's not the belt. If they don't move it's the belt.

    Mine stopped the other day after some cornering Tdi..... sediment.

    yep but had fueling isuses replace filter but still not the greatest but at least drivable i think the lift pump may be playing up

    There's a guaze filter at the top of the lift pump under the big screw. There's also a guaze thimble filter on the inlet side of the fuel injection pump.

    The lift pump guaze is before the fuel filter, so if you've got a load of dirty fuel it is likely to be clogged.

    solvered now it was a ryco filter
    now have a cooper and all is great
    plus theirs a big filter for the real bad stuff at the back near the fuel pump
