    Question rookie question about discovery

    G'day, all,
im a student, hope to travel around oz with a reliable and affordable 4WD car, just a landrover discovery available, the ower told me they just drive around oz with this car, 1996model 136k on meter, good mechanical condition, and it comes with LPG, and some camping stuff. no rust, no leak, with reg till DEC 2009, 4800$ and im a mechanic illiterate therefore, my concern is does this car worth this price? what should i notice when inspecting the car? how about maintenance fee in the future. i heard V8 with timing chain not belt, so dont need worry about it?in particular, the owner just finish his long-trip done about 32000 kilometer, so is this car still reliable enough to have another long-trip??
thx in advance, really appreciate any suggestion!

that is low k's for that age of vehicle....I would pay to get it inspected by a mechanic if you dont have a lot of idea about mechanics especially if your taking it around Oz...

bare in mind you cant get LPG everywhere so it depends on where your travelling...
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    I would agree with above.

Long trips are good for these cars, start and stop is what kills them.
Get it checked and serviced and set off, keep some cash for running maintenance.

Enjoy the journey, not just the destination.
