Nope, both a straight forward job. You may need to rotate the engine with a spanner to line the cam lobes up when you put them both back in. Not a hard job, just a bit fiddly. matt

Ok so you have to do that for both the vaccum and fuel lift????

i take it you ut the spanner on the viscous fan nut and turn there??? How will you know when they are lined up, will it just go in and you tighten her up???

WEll all I can say is it's about bloody time lol. Went down to alienD2's workshop and found, fixed the problem which was the fuel lift pump. The old one once taken off made like a whistling noise when you pumed it like there was a hole in the diaphram, put the new one and she goes as a treat. Very happy man am I lol. Big cheers for everyone with there suggestions and even bigger thanks to alien for showin me the ropes on mechanics.

    Cheers Simon

    G'day Joker,

when I took my vehicle to my mechanic to install my body lift kit as I wasn't game enough in attempting to do so on my steep driveway while the car was there up on the hoist the Fuel lift Pump decided it didn't want to play the game anymore and crapped itself. So it was replaced.

so it's good you found the source of the problem and replaced it ,you'll get many more years of happy motoring out of your oiler.

    cheers guys!!!!!!!

godd it was bloody killing me not knowing what the problem was..thing is alot of ppl have been saying the the lift pump usualy just gives up the ghost there and then but mine just kept on going and giving me different symtoms, hence why it took so long to find out what it was. I had a new lift pump in the back of my disco for about 2months LoL and i had a feeling it could be it but didnt do anything about it and try to find other was to fix the problem, so heres a lesson if you have that feeling to change something, and it has not been changed in a while just bloody do it!!!!! LoL

    cheers simon
