    Water leaking into drivers door

    Hello all, my disco has a habit or getting water into the drivers door, at first i thought it was from 4wd'ing but after recently draining it completely and making sure window up properly it rainded and the next day it had a fair amout of water in it again, i have checked the obvious things like the window seal and it seems to be fine, anyone had this prob? cheers.

    I think the doors are aluminium skinned so not much of a big issue. I usually get a small nail and just clear out the drain plugs in the bottom of the door. I actually keep the nail in the door pocket so anytime I hear water sloshing about I clear all the three rubber bungs.

    just take all the rubber bungs out I have.......although dont get so much water down there now i have wind deflectors as I think the water gets down past the rubber seal that sits up against the window.

    but I just pulled my bungs out once I realised I was carrying about 7 litres of water round between the two doors oh and I think I had 2 litres in the back door
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    I call the drivers door on my Disco the "rain gauge". In fairness to the drivers door all the others leak as well, just not as much.

    The water ingress in my Disco can be traced to the window seals going hard and brittle.

    The water doesnt seem to affect any of the electrics so I am not overly concerned.

    window seals

    So what parts of the disco are actually alloy ? should i be worried about a few rust bubbles starting around the safari windows?

    yes rust in the alpine windows is very common
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
