    Bleeding Brake system with ABS

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has completed a full bleeding of the brake system with Wabco ABS.
I assume you bleed the passenger side rear first through to the drivers front last?
Ive been told you need a lot of brake fluid to get all the air out... say 2 litres?

    Any special advice or techniques?

    Thanks

I know JustinC just bled the brakes on the LSE Tdi (I was there), so maybe he can answer this one. All I can say is that its one messy job!

yes JC has provided advice on this previously. I tried pressure bleeding and got little improvement then manual bleeding, and still not much gain, 3 litres later.

I spoke with JC who reckons the brakes were pretty good for a 95 ES (they have upgraded Goodrich lines and Defender rotors and calipers and aggressive pads). I also asked a local brake shop who simply laughed and said mate get over it, that's just how they are.

He also told me late model Pootrools have a similar spongy pedal and you can sit at the lights and press the pedal to the floor. He makes heaps out of them and LRs from paranoid owners

Mine still feels spongy but it DOES stop fiercely when asked to it's just my wife who don't like it when compared to the hard and top of the pedal XTrail and the Paj brake feel.
