Yes, it's the inertia switch, but in the case of 300TDI's the switch is an internal part from the alarm module.
So you will not find this reset "button" near the washer bottle.
The activated inertia switch moves to the "up" all door locks, if there are down, too.

So if its inside the alarm module, what is the easiest way to fix, and where is the alarm module located ?

It's up above the passenger footwell - left hand side - a green box. It also has the receiver for the remote central locking.
I had to replace my alarm module once ( different problem ). You may be lucky and get a second hand one from one of the aftermarket wreckers ( eg Ritters) otherwise new ones ( if still around ) were $400 plus. Once you fit a new module your fobs have to be resynched to it via a Testbook, otherwise remote locking won't work.
I heard there is a bypass dongle available that you can fit in place of the alarm module. But you'd then have no alarm ( no great loss) and no remote entry.
I had this problem when I went to Cape York a few years ago after hitting a washout! It continued intermittently for the trip and required the resetting as described in owners manual! When I got back to Townsville I spoke to the mechanics at Tony Ireland Land Rover who said it was a problem and they had a quick fix. They pulled module out and cut through one of the printed circuits on the board! Put it back in and all fine!!
Central locking, alarm etc works fine and no flashing lights!

I'd suggest they isolated the inertia switch on the alarm module by cutting that track. I did have a pic of that module pc board once with the inertia siwtch identified, but can't find it now.
Something is not right. The inertia switch is supposed to turn on Hazards and diable the full pump. So if the flashers are deactivated, wouldn't the switch still trip on corrugations and then stall the engine by cutting of fuel so that in itself is annoying also?
i have a 97 disco and when mine tripped it didnt stop the car i drove for 15 minutes till i could pull up in a safe spot (was in a 2 way single lane sandy track) it was just my flashers that were on.
