Rear door on 97 300tdi disco

first of all i must say how helpfull this site is thanks fellow landi owners
Can someone please tell me an easy way to fix my back door handle, it does not spring back out when you squeeze it and i have to manually prise it open also the arm that stops the back door from opening and swinging around to the side of the car has come of at the base inside the door, all that is left is a small knobby bit that i have to slip the arm onto to stop it swinging around
    cheers

Welcome to the joys of Land Rover ownership! Your problem is encountered frequently and eventually by all of us who are fortunate enough to own such a superb vehicle. The cure is simple: prise out the LR-badge in the number plate light assembly and spray a generous amount of WD40 onto the lock mechanism whilst actuating the opener. This will solve the problem for the next year or two (depending on local conditions and amount of WD40 used).
As for the strut, I reckon you will have to replace the item, if you cannot find a way to reattach the broken end to the door.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.
