Switched 12v supply...
Where's the best place to take a switched 12v supply from on a Disco series I?
I need a supply thats turned off when you remove the ignition key.
The fuse box isn't the ideal place because you can't get around the back of it with taking it out.
Any ideas?
Thx.

I assume that you mean the tumbler block where I insert the ignition key?
I looked there already, it's pretty much a sealed unit with a few soldered lugs at teh back. There's not much room to manouver a soldering iron & if anything goes wrong it would be a complicated repair.
I was hoping for a simpler solution. The stereo 'turn on' supply would work I suppose but there must be other sources of 12v switched power?
Thx.

Hi Streaky, the fuse box does have switched 12v on the front. If I recall correctly over on the r/h side of the fuse box. Have a look at Rave for installing extras cigarette lighter outlets it shows the connection.

On my RRC there is a 12v switched supply under the rear of the passenger front seat for the power seats which are not fitted to mine.
Also if you lift the console bin, (and I assume you can in a disco) you should find some under there for various things such as the rear cigar lighter.
